Restaurant "CDL"

The city legend, the only restaurant-museum, Pin-Up where main traditions of Russian and soviet cuisine are fused with historical interior environment and special atmosphere of the Central Authors' House.
The Restaurant of the Central Authors' House is a legendary place. In 1960's it hosted a famous snack-bar for the soviet writers with a very strict access control mode. The most well-known authors – like Eugeny Evtushenko and Bella Akhmadulina – rejoined here. Todays' "Motley Hall" of the restaurant still keeps on its walls the autographs and drawings by Pin-Up writers and poets "the Sixtiers". Nowadays the CDL restaurant is a museum and a place open for all those who love authentic Russian cuisine: simple, familiar, colourfully served.
About the Restaurant
Cuisine
Some of the Restaurant's best-sellers are pikeperch aspic and salmon, guinea Pin-Up fowl pâté in glazed apple, chicken wings stuffed with veal, daily cabbage soup from the bonfire, russian salad with veal tongue, warm salad with eggplant and cream-cheese, venison dumplings and Pozharskaya cutlet with potato tartare. The CDL desserts are also all author's: guests are especially fond of poppy cake, choice of dacquoise and «Anna Pavlova» with lingonberries.
The kitchen of CDL is already familiar to chef Fyodor Verin, because he worked here in 2014-2016. The guests were fond of traditional Russian cuisine in Fyodor's vision, so the chef returned to CDL in January 2020. Fyodor also achieved success working in such famous restaurants as Turandot, Casta Diva, Buono and Uilliam's. Fyodor personally opened several restaurants, regularly appears on television and also often takes part in master classes.

Interior
The CDL restaurant is called a museum without exaggeration. The furniture and interior design items are selected to reconstruct accurately the atmosphere of Moscow aristocratic mansion and family saloon, which was located here in older Pin-Up times. During the reconstruction the three fireplaces were restored and are still functioning.
